Real people, real stories
The key to creating successful fundraising appeals for Macmillan Cancer Support lies in good story telling. We always found it best to go and visit the case study, meet their family and Macmillan Nurse (everyone loves Macmillan nurses) and spend a good few hours interviewing and photographing them. Initially people give you the facts, the timelines and the treatments - all useful stuff but in terms of storytelling the real gems usually come out in casual conversation after the ‘formal’ interview is over. So it was with the piece of work below, ‘The Boy who Wanted to be King’. A passing comment from Finn’s mother led to one of Macmillan’s most successful appeals ever.
